Our desire for having a parent figure will never (I think) leave us, till the day we put off our bags of responsibilities and negotiate with the non- negotiable deadline.

Found this one in my gmail a few minutes ago. The title pulled me in while The Burning Ghat by Rishab kept playing on loop. This article has come into my life at an important juncture and it definitely stirred something in me. An understanding about dependency and the cause of anger that comes along when one sees the figure of dependency slipping away. There is no higher being to hold on to and I do not have any idea as to how to move forward. I wish there existed a God the way people talk about and defend that supernatural being. Towards the end of the article, I got emotional. I really appreciate the part where you tell us what this article was supposed to be and how it changed its course. It is an honour to get to read this piece by you on a platform like Substack.

Your essay found me at the right time. It reminded me of a passage from I Who Have Never Known Men, which I finished last night:
"Sometimes, I used to sit under the sky, on a clear night, and gaze at the stars,
